Catherine Regan, Ph.D is a spiritual director, clinical psychologist, and adjunct staff member at Mercy Center with a special interest in contemplative practices and resultant benefits in our individual and collective lives.

Rev. Vincent Pizzuto, Ph.D is Associate Professor in the Dept. of Theology & Religious Studies at the University of San Francisco. Recent publications include studies in Mathew's infancy narratives, Scriptural ecology readings to confront climate crises, and homosexuality and the Church. Vincent ministers to New Skellig, a Bay Area Celtic contemplative community.

Topics will explore contemporary life & human experiences in light of spiritual practices--for example, the critical issue of environmental sustainability as a spiritually fulfilling & socially just expression of human presence on the planet; how Centering Prayer helps dismantle personal programs of consumerism & other addictions and see ourselves more honestly in the loving eyes of God; ways to recognize and integrate a new and transformed life; Centering Prayer's role in cultivating a loving and forgiving heart in our woundedness; ways to become more deeply aware of ourselves, our bodies, our very hearts as "sacred scripture"; how to integrate our intellectual, mystical and sexual energies as experiences of the Divine Presence within us.

This Speaker Series is an excellent way for individuals and Centering Prayer groups to deepen their Christian meditation practice and integrate into the larger northern California contemplative community.
